First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Investec.
Accountant
After applying, I had a phone interview with HR. Then, I interviewed with a team member and the manager, followed by interviews with more senior team members. There were 3 stages in total, though the process felt quite long and drawn out.
- Could you walk me through your resume and tell me a bit about yourself?
Accountant
Had an interview with HOF and then the CEO. It was more of a chat than technical questions, really meant to get to know me. They gave a quick overview of the bank, but you have to be there to really understand how things work.
- What are your aspirations?
Financial Accountant
I applied online and then had a phone call before being invited to their London office for an interview. Two guys interviewed me, they seemed really disengaged and not into what I was saying. One was slumped in his chair, looking out the window, basically daydreaming, which was pretty rude. They had my CV and a paper but didn't write anything down the whole time. They knew I was a grad with no experience looking for my first finance job, yet they said they expected me to know some financial stuff. Why even call me in then?
- Can you name some of our clients?
