First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Intellect Design Arena.
Senior Java Developer
So the interview had a few parts. First, there was a technical round where they checked my skills in Java, Spring Boot, microservices, and how I handle problems. Then, I met with the VP. This part was more about my strategic thinking, how I make decisions, and the business impact of my past work. I talked about what I did, the tough spots, and how I fixed them, making sure it all tied back to what the company wanted.
- What are the components of HTTP?
- Can you tell me about your project?
- What do you know about Spring and Spring Boot?
Python Developer
So, to get through these interviews, especially when they're heavy on DSA and the offers are kinda low, you gotta practice a lot. Don't just memorize stuff, really get good at solving problems and making your solutions efficient. Make sure you explain your thinking clearly to the interviewer. If the salary isn't great, try to negotiate. Bring up your worth and the cost of living, but also be ready to walk away if it's just not working out for you.
- Can you explain the Celery and RabbitMQ 502 error code?
Quality Manager
I interviewed for the Quality Manager role, and the process kicked off with a direct conversation with senior leadership. It wasn't super formal, more like a chat about my past experiences, how I approach quality, and if I was open to moving or coming into the office. They mostly asked conversational questions about my previous work and how I'd tackle quality transformation projects. After that, HR kind of went quiet. I tried to follow up, but didn't get clear info until later, when I found out it didn't work out. The interview itself was good, but the whole process felt a bit unclear and didn't have a proper ending. If you're going for this, be ready for casual chats with leaders and be flexible about hearing back from HR.
- Could you discuss your thoughts on applying Machine Learning and AI to defect management?
Software Engineer
So, the interview process for Intellect Design was supposed to be three rounds, but because so many people applied, it ended up being five rounds. First up was a 60-minute round with critical thinking and aptitude questions. Mostly game-based critical thinking stuff, plus 10 aptitude questions. Then, there was an online coding challenge. It had 10 multiple-choice questions on Java and SQL, and then 5 coding problems – 3 in Java and 2 in SQL. You had to pass all test cases to move on. After that, it was a group discussion, and then another group discussion, this time with students from other colleges too. The last round was a mix of a technical and HR interview.
- Could you explain the difference between local and global variables in Java and provide a code example?
