The interview process was confusing for everyone involved. Be careful about wasting letters of recommendation for this place, as they have many applicants and significant application mismanagement because they don't seem to care. There are other options available. The project selection process is very opaque; you have to list the codes of 3 projects by name. In my case, they made a mistake in copying the codes, and I was contacted very late by a group that had no connection to my project selections. I later declined to proceed with this interview. I never got a rejection letter for my other interviews (did HR confuse my interview rejection with a complete rejection?).

The interview process kicked off with an initial online chat with HR. After that, there was a second online interview where I spoke with a colleague from the department and the manager. The third stage was an in-person interview which involved a case assignment and a presentation. If all went well, there was a final assessment to check cultural fit.

The hiring process took four months, which was way longer than the usual two weeks. Communication from the hiring team was really bad during this time, which felt unprofessional. The technical interview had a large panel of 8-10 interviewers, which was a bit much. The feedback session was interesting but not very clear. I'm not sure if this is normal in Belgium or just this company, but it made me question how organized and communicative the team is.

Behavioral Technical Other

I went through 4 interviews for this role. The first was a general get-to-know-you call. Then, I had two interviews with engineers and two with managers where we discussed my background, work experience, and some general electronics topics. I got the approval, but unfortunately, they couldn't offer me a salary sufficient for my visa, so the offer didn't work out. The HR experience was quite unprofessional; they knew about my visa situation from the start but proceeded with a month of interviews before stating they couldn't meet my salary needs.

  • Tell me about the most challenging design you've worked on.
