First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Guess?.
Assistant Planner/Buyer
I went through 3 interview rounds. The first was a phone call with the recruiter, then an in-person interview with the Senior Planning Manager, and finally a virtual interview with the head of planning. They asked for my references, but I didn't get the job because they hired someone internally. The recruiter did suggest me for another job, Allocation Analyst, and I got to the first interview with the Senior Manager of Allocation for that one.
- Can you describe your experience with merchandise planning?
Branch Manager
We'll start with a greeting and introduction, where I'll tell you about the company and myself. Then, it's your turn to introduce yourself, covering your career path, relevant experience, and qualifications. We'll then dive into questions about your motivation, technical skills, leadership and management capabilities, and customer service experience. I'll also pose some situational questions. Finally, you'll have a chance to ask your questions before we wrap up.
- Tell me about a time you successfully implemented a project or a sales strategy.
- Can you provide an example of a successful project or sales strategy you've implemented?
- Please share your career history, relevant experiences, and qualifications.
Sales Assistant
The interview experience was really bad. I initially dropped off my CV at the store and the store manager asked me to come back the next day. The following day, I had an online interview with HR while the store manager sat beside me. They asked me about 20 questions and the whole thing lasted 1.5 hours. It felt insane for a Sales Assistant role, making me feel quite awkward. The recruiter seemed suspicious, probing for negative responses, and the HR focused heavily on negative aspects. Despite this, I remained positive and confident, and I liked that I could voice my opinions, although it felt like they were looking for people easily controlled. There was also a strange secrecy between HR and the manager, making me think HR was in charge of the store operations, not the manager.
- Could you tell us about your strengths and weaknesses?
- How does your weakness affect your work?
- Describe your ideal work environment.
Internal Auditor
I applied on Indeed on May 2nd. They reached out to schedule a phone interview for May 15th, and I had the first round of interviews on May 17th. After that, the recruiter mentioned they wanted to set up a second round with the Senior Director of Internal Audit and the Sr. Manager of Internal Audit. The second interview happened two days later, but the Senior Director couldn't make it, so it was just with the manager. Three days after that, I received a call with the official job offer. I believe they also did a background check.
- Can you tell me why you chose accounting?
- What draws you to internal auditing?
- What makes you want to work for GUESS?
