I thought the interview went well, but I never heard back. I was ghosted by this company and haven't been able to get another interview anywhere else. I've gotten rejection emails super fast after applying for other jobs. I sent follow-up emails and got no response. As someone who has hired people before, I think this is crazy and unacceptable. It's really disappointing for a company like Greystar to not at least communicate with candidates, especially qualified ones. Greystar gets an F for communication.

I had a phone interview with the recruiter and they said I'd hear back by the end of the week. When I didn't, I followed up and they told me the hiring manager was on vacation for 2 weeks. After waiting, I still didn't hear back so I followed up again and was told I'd hear back at the end of that week. I didn't hear back, then got a generic rejection email the next Monday. When I asked what happened, they just said the hiring manager went with another candidate. I waited 3 weeks and had to follow up a bunch of times.

The hardest part was actually getting to speak with someone because the interview kept getting rescheduled so many times due to internal changes. After about 5 tries, I finally got to interview with the Regional Manager. I thought that was great because I figured I wouldn't need a second interview. I was right, I got hired on the spot! The background check was just a simple search through Sterling, and there was no drug test.

I had a chance to chat with a few managers at a recent career fair, and they were all really great. Everyone I talked to was super nice and made me feel welcome. The conversations felt really real; the managers were very engaged and asked good, specific questions to figure out where I'd be a good fit in the company. The whole experience gave me a really good feeling about the team and the company's vibe.
