The hiring process was long and frankly frustrating, mostly because the company seemed disorganized and wasn't really committed to me as a candidate. I had four interviews: one with HR, two with managers, and one with a director. All the interviewers were really nice and seemed genuinely interested throughout our talks. But, in the first three stages, they kept asking me about my projects and my experience with a specific ERP, which I made clear from the start I haven't worked with. Even so, this wasn't presented as a deal-breaker at any of those points. Then, in the fourth interview, they suddenly said this exact requirement was crucial for the role, showing a clear lack of internal alignment on what they were looking for. On top of that, the rejection came as a generic, automated message from the recruitment platform, which just felt dismissive.

I went through two stages: a group activity and a panel with managers. Both were online, which was still tiring. The whole process felt outdated. In the group dynamic, each person introduced themselves and answered questions. We had to stay on the call with cameras on until the very end. It would be much simpler if we could leave after our turn or at least turn off our cameras. The call lasted 3 hours. The panel with managers was similar to the group dynamic, mainly about introductions. They added a basic 30-minute case study, but they were really assessing personality and whether the manager liked you. For the presentation part, they required slides using 'storytelling' about your background and life, essentially rehashing what was already said but with fancy slides. It seemed like whoever made the prettiest slides had a better chance. I wasn't told about this requirement beforehand, so I didn't have slides, putting me at a disadvantage compared to others who were informed. Overall, it's a long, tiring, and unnecessary process for everyone involved.

O processo avaliou tanto comportamentos quanto habilidades técnicas. A empresa, que é centenária, está passando por uma transformação. A liderança é um mix de pessoas jovens e mais experientes. Avaliaram minha experiência em aplicar strategic sourcing, TCO, cost avoidance, leilões e conhecimento de SAP + Ariba.

Behavioral

I was first contacted by a third-party company for a confidential role. The analyst was very attentive and answered all my questions. When it moved to the admission phase with Gerdau's HR, it was chaotic. Responses were extremely slow. I thought the process would be more flexible since they contacted me and knew I was working elsewhere, but they didn't maintain good communication and had many in-person stages. Finally, they emailed me to start in two days without a formal offer letter or any careful contact, knowing I'd need to resign and serve a notice period. They contacted me, so I expected a different process, and frankly, I had reservations.
