The interview was virtual, and we had cameras on. However, it didn't feel very professional. The interviewer kept leaving during our chat to do other things, making me wonder if she was really listening to most of what I said. Also, her clothes were too casual for an interview, like she was just at home. The lack of focus and professionalism really gave me a bad vibe about the whole thing.

Behavioral Technical Case

The first interview was with a managing actuary and a Sr Actuarial Analyst. They went over my resume and asked some technical and critical thinking questions. The second round had four interviews in one day, each with two interviewers (Sr Actuarial Director and/or managing actuary). These interviews included technical questions about the healthcare industry, a scenario-based statistical question, basic problem-solving questions, and behavioral questions using the STAR method. Overall, it was a positive experience. I received an offer two weeks after the second round.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

The interview process has 3 stages. It starts with a phone call, then a Zoom interview with two hiring managers. If they like you, they'll invite you to their campus in Deerwood Park, Jacksonville, FL. They cover gas, flights, hotel, and food for the final part. The campus and amenities are really great, and they seem to really want to hire the right people.

This was a really long process, and honestly felt like a lot of the same thing over and over. It took about a month from applying to even get a phone screen. First, there were these virtual phone screenings you could do on your own time. A week after that, recruiting called to set up a virtual interview with two people, which lasted about 50 minutes. That same day, I got another call for a virtual interview with four leaders, scheduled for the following week, and it was 45 minutes. A few days after that, recruiting called AGAIN to set up another virtual interview with the same leaders, which felt kind of pointless. That was the following week and lasted 45 minutes. I waited almost two weeks after that last one and never heard back, so I took another job. This whole thing took way too much of my time, especially since I work full time and had to take time off for these interviews. The interviews themselves went fine, and I was surprised to never hear back after four interviews. It just feels like they didn't value my time and the process was way too much for the job.
