They started with a text pre-screen, then a recruiter call where they asked behavioral questions and repeated some from the pre-screen. The recruiter didn't share much about benefits, who I'd meet, or the company. After that, there was a video panel interview. It felt pretty impersonal, short, and like they were just checking boxes. I have a feeling they didn't like me from the start, and honestly, the whole process was strange. Even if they offered me the job, I'd probably say no based on my gut feeling about the company culture.

The interview process was pretty easy. I guess it helped that I knew someone there. First, I had a screening chat with a recruiter. They were really helpful and explained the onboarding stuff well. About two days later, I went in and talked with two out of the three people I was supposed to meet. They mentioned they're opening a new showroom in a few months, so I'd start at one place and then move to the new one, working Tuesdays through Saturdays. They said I should hear back in a couple of weeks since I was the first person they interviewed for the role.

The first call was okay, but it was hard to hear because the person was in a really loud place. The in-person interview with the manager was fine, though it got a bit sidetracked with off-topic stuff like politics and personal beliefs, which I just kind of nodded along to. They mentioned Spanish wasn't a requirement, but it seemed important because they said a lot of their clients speak it. They apparently had someone already in the role they were considering moving to sales, but it looked like they just kept her for now. It's basically a receptionist job that needs someone with a friendly attitude. I got rejected via email less than a day after the interview.

I hope Ferguson sees this because my interview was unprofessional. I applied in July and didn't hear back until late August for an early September interview. The manager said I'd hear back the next week, but I didn't. I followed up, and the manager emailed saying I'd be an asset and to expect an update the following week. Still no word, so I reached out again. Two weeks after the first interview, the manager called to say they hired someone internally. I had a referral, my best friend. Be cautious if applying here. Thankfully, I had other applications out.
