I went through three interviews: first a phone call, then I met with the hiring manager, and finally had a chat with HR. After those, they showed me around and asked if I liked the job and when I could start. I was pretty sure I'd get it because I have good experience and people skills. But then, as the hiring manager walked me to the parking lot, he asked about my car. I said I took the bus, and that was that. My partner was using the car that day, but I still took the bus to be on time. I just think you shouldn't judge people based on their situation because you might miss out on good, loyal, and hardworking employees. That's it, no hard feelings, just my experience here in Charlotte.

The branch manager interviewed me. It looked like they had a lot of people leaving and the current employees were overworked. When I asked why the last manager left, she told me he'd been there 5 years and wanted less responsibility, so he became the warehouse supervisor. When I mentioned I had kids and was a family man, she seemed put off. I didn't get the job even though I was super qualified. My take is they wanted someone they could overwork and underpay. Even if they offered it, I wouldn't have taken it. I'm glad I read Glassdoor reviews beforehand because it seems like this is common for warehouse workers at this company.

I first applied online, and then about three weeks later, the HR manager from the location reached out via email to set up an interview. The following week, I went in. I met with two managers and the HR manager, and they showed me around the distribution center. By the end of the interviews, the HR manager offered me the job, which I accepted. The next day, I had to take a drug test. Once the drug screen and background check are done, the HR manager will contact me to confirm my start date. I think it'll probably be next week since this is a holiday week and she mentioned she was out of office until Monday. Everyone I met seemed really professional, and it looks like it'll be a fun place to work.
