First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Family Dollar Stores.
Front End Cashier
The process was straightforward, allowing you to explain yourself. They were very kind and polite. They asked a lot of questions, then you proceed to computer tasks, provided your background check is cleared. After that, you come in for training.
- Do you have flexible availability?
Sales Associate
It wasn't too bad, lots of behavioral questions came up. They asked for basic info like my strengths and weaknesses and my availability. There were also scenario questions. It was an easy interview to get ready for, I just looked up common interview questions online and prepared some answers.
- What are your strengths and weaknesses?
- Tell me about your availability.
Cashier
It was super easy, they didn't ask much and mostly wanted to know if I had questions for them. They do care that you get stuff done and can work independently. I'd say during training, ask a lot of questions because they breeze through the policies.
- Are you okay with working night shifts?
Grocery Clerk
They asked me about my past jobs. Then they asked if I'd ever worked a cash register and counted the money at the end of the shift. They also asked about my experience with stocking shelves and helping customers.
- Can you tell me about your previous work experience?
- Have you ever operated a cash register before?
- Were you responsible for counting the till?
