First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Eze Software.
Project Manager
I had an online interview with the incoming and outgoing managers. One of the interviews had poor lighting and a distracting background, making it hard to see. The questions were basic, focusing on my experience. It seemed like the company's organizational structure was still being figured out, suggesting potential chaos. Even though I thought the interview went well, I never heard back. I had to follow up to learn the position was filled. It's unprofessional when companies don't send a simple follow-up email stating they've chosen another candidate, making me question how they treat employees.
- Can you share an instance where a project unexpectedly went off track?
Software Test Engineer
The recruiter reached out and I had a short initial call with them, then HR. After that, I had a technical interview with a Senior engineer. The interview was pretty relaxed, though we had some technical issues with Zoom and had to wait about 15 minutes for it to work. They asked two simple coding questions, which we did on a shared screen. They also asked some basic questions about my resume. It was a bummer because even though the interview went well and I passed the coding parts, they never got back to me with any feedback.
- Can you determine the frequency of characters from the first string appearing within the second string, considering various characters?
- Could you answer some basic questions regarding your resume?
Accountant
It was a ridiculous interview process. It started with a phone screen with the Revenue Manager which seemed to go well. He asked about 10 questions then said he wanted me to come in to the Boston office the week after for an in person interview and to 'Meet the team'. At the office I interviewed with 6 people which took 2.5 hours. I had to interview with the revenue manager again who asked me the same questions he asked on the phone, then with the director and various other people on the team. They all had the same sheet of 10 questions and they all pretty much asked the same questions. All seemed uninterested in being there. After the interviews they gave me an excel assessment test to take which consisted of doing a pivot table, V-lookup, and then various questions about journal entries. It felt like taking a college accounting test again. After the test they didn't thank me for coming in or for my time, they just showed me out the door. Everything seemed to go very well but got a rejection letter a few days later.
- Can you explain what deferred revenue is?
- Tell me about a time when something went wrong and how you resolved it.
- What makes you interested in this particular role and company?
Software Test Engineer
The first step was a phone call that lasted about 20 minutes, where they asked me about my background and a personal project. After that, I was invited for an in-person interview which was scheduled for 2-3.5 hours. This in-person part had five separate interviews with six interviewers in total. The first two interviewers were from the role I applied for, and they asked about me, why I want to join Eze Software, and gave me a brainteaser (the gold bar one). The next interviewer, a project manager, focused on non-programming questions. Then, an interviewer asked about Java/programming basics, mentioning data structures. Even though they use C#, they said knowing C/C++/Java is fine. The boss interviewed me next, asking more about my background, why I'm there, and another tougher brainteaser. The final interviewer didn't ask much, mostly repeating questions about me and my personal project. It felt pretty repetitive and long, with many interviewers asking the same things. They really emphasize the personal project part, so be ready to talk about one. Oh, and make sure to ask questions at the end of each interview; not having any questions might be seen as a lack of interest.
- Can you give an example of a personal project you've worked on? Please explain it thoroughly and what you learned from the experience.
- What motivated you to apply for a position at Eze Software?
- Regarding programming and OOP basics, could you explain what an interface is and how it's used?
