I was reached out to on LinkedIn, and we set up an introductory call. Then, I went into the office for an in-person interview, where we had a conversation about the responsibilities, pay, and culture. Straightforward and honestly good conversation. Was surprised that I was not called back. The position seemed like a role for those looking to start a book and dive into wealth management.

There were four rounds of interviews planned. I stopped after the second interview because the job wasn't really a good fit for me, but the interviewers were really nice and helpful. They were very clear with the information. I liked that they were upfront about the position details.

Behavioral Case

The interview process with Equitable Advisors was more laid-back than I expected. I was initially contacted by a successful young advisor through a third-party network, which set a more conversational tone from the start. The questions felt more like a mutual exchange rather than a high-pressure evaluation, and I appreciated the opportunity to learn about the role in a real and honest way. I made it to the final interview, but after gaining a clearer picture of the day-to-day responsibilities, I realized the position didn’t align with the kind of work I’m passionate about pursuing long term. While I ultimately declined the offer, the experience helped me better understand what I value in a career and confirmed the importance of finding the right fit—not just professionally, but personally as well.

Behavioral Presentation

I went through 3 interview rounds. First was a basic phone call, just to get acquainted and confirm your interest. The second round was more in-depth, focusing on understanding you better and assessing your fit for the role. The final round was more practical/informational, involving a mock exercise where I had to build a book of business and explain how I would service it.
