First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Equitable Advisors.
Financial Analyst
The interview process with Equitable Advisors was more laid-back than I expected. I was initially contacted by a successful young advisor through a third-party network, which set a more conversational tone from the start. The questions felt more like a mutual exchange rather than a high-pressure evaluation, and I appreciated the opportunity to learn about the role in a real and honest way. I made it to the final interview, but after gaining a clearer picture of the day-to-day responsibilities, I realized the position didn’t align with the kind of work I’m passionate about pursuing long term. While I ultimately declined the offer, the experience helped me better understand what I value in a career and confirmed the importance of finding the right fit—not just professionally, but personally as well.
- What is your motivation for pursuing a career as a financial advisor, and what draws you to Equitable Advisors specifically?
- Could you describe your long-term career aspirations and how this position fits into that vision?
- What methods would you employ to establish and grow your own client base?
Financial Analyst
It was a super chill, over-the-phone interview with two people from the company. Even though it was remote, it felt pretty personal. Both of them were really laid back and didn't put much pressure on me. The whole thing was pretty fast.
- Can you tell me about a time you didn't succeed?
- Who do you think are some of our main competitors?
Financial Analyst
It was a four-step process. We started with a phone interview, then there was an online orientation in a group setting. After that, an in-person interview. The final step involved preparing and presenting a business plan, which was unexpected. This came after they did an extensive background check.
- What are your strategies for engaging and acquiring new clients?
