My interview experience with Eclerx was quite disheartening. I went through 3 interview rounds, which included technical and discussion parts, and I passed all of them. After just two rounds, they actually brought up an offer and asked about my availability, even suggesting I could start right away, which made me think they were really interested. But then, they threw in an extra 'role-fit' round, which honestly felt like another technical test. I passed that too, but things started getting murky after that. What was even worse was the lack of communication; I was the one always chasing for updates instead of hearing back from the hiring team proactively. Eventually, after a lot of follow-ups, they told me my current salary was just too high for their budget and that's why the offer wasn't getting approved. This was shocking, especially after multiple rounds, positive feedback, and already discussing an offer. They should've brought up salary issues way earlier instead of wasting my time and effort. The whole process felt disorganized, not transparent, and like they didn't value my time.

The interview process started with an aptitude test. Then there was a manager interview where they asked HR questions about your education, background, and knowledge of the role and company. They also discussed your qualifications and education, and what you've learned. Finally, there was some basic math and questions about investment banking products.

So, the whole process has four steps. First up is a group discussion, which is mainly to see how you communicate and work with others. Then, you'll have an HR interview, where they get a feel for your personality and your background. After that, it's a managerial interview to check out your problem-solving skills. And finally, to wrap things up, there's an aptitude test to gauge your logical and analytical thinking.

So, at eClerx, the whole process had four stages. First up was a Group Discussion (GD) to check how we communicate, think clearly, and work with others. If you passed that, you went on to an HR interview, which was all about my past experiences, what I want to do in my career, and if I'd fit in with the company vibe. Next was an Aptitude Test, testing logic, math skills, and English. The last and most important part was the Technical Interview, where they grilled me on finance stuff, journal entries, accruals, and general accounting. It felt like a good mix of checking technical chops and soft skills.

Confirmed questions4 questions
  • My first round at eClerx was a Group Discussion with the topic: “Work From Office vs Work From Home – Which is Better?”. About 8–10 of us were in the group. Everyone got a turn to speak, and they looked at our communication, clear thinking, listening skills, and how well we presented our points. I argued for both sides, mentioning how WFH gives flexibility and saves commute time, while WFO boosts collaboration, team spirit, and sometimes productivity. I made sure to speak confidently, back up my points with real examples, and also prompted others to share their thoughts. The GD was about 10–15 minutes, and it was a good experience that tested both speaking and listening.
  • HR interview focusing on my background, career goals, and suitability for the company culture.
  • Aptitude Test that evaluated logical reasoning, quantitative ability, and basic English comprehension.
