Associate Trainee
My interview at DHL IT Services was pretty well put together and gave me a good sense of what they're looking for. It was a mix of technical stuff, questions about systems, and behavioral things to see how I handle different situations. They asked me about important topics like databases, servers, cloud computing, operating systems, JavaScript, and how projects are built. We also talked about my schoolwork and projects. The interviewers were nice and let me take my time explaining things. They seemed keen to know how quickly I can learn, how I work with others, and my strategy for dealing with tough situations. Some questions were pretty deep and needed a solid grasp of the concepts, which made it a bit tough, but honestly, it was a good way to see where I need to grow. All in all, it was a valuable experience to get a feel for what the industry expects and what I can work on to get better.
- Could you describe different server types and share your insights on data processing and security measures?
- Can you elaborate on data processing and security in relation to server types?
Duales Studium

Human Resources Business Partner
I was really excited to join DHL as an HR Business Partner. The recruiter on the first call was great - friendly, professional, and explained the job and company vibe well, which made me feel good. But then, talking to the hiring manager was a totally different experience. She seemed to look down on me, brushed off what I was saying, and didn't seem into having a real chat. It felt more like she was grilling me than having a conversation. It was super disappointing to be treated like that, especially for a senior HR role. It makes sense why her team has had a lot of people leave or why the job is hard to fill - this conversation made it clear. It's a bummer because the company itself seems promising, but having a manager like that would be a no-go for most experienced HR folks.

Java Architect
So DHL's Java Architect hiring process was pretty solid. First off, a quick chat with HR. Then, a technical interview covering Java, Spring Boot, and how to design systems. After that, there was a coding challenge to see how I solve problems. We also talked about architectural styles, microservices, and cloud tech. The very last part was a behavioral interview, checking my leadership and teamwork. The whole thing took about 3 weeks.
- How would you design a system to deal with unreliable service responses, specifically using caching?
- In system design, what's your strategy for managing unstable service responses through caching?
