Aptitude tests like the CCAT, Matrigma, or general numerical/verbal reasoning ones are done to quickly assess your cognitive skills—think problem-solving under time pressure. Nailing the Self-Introduction (Your 1-2 Minute Elevator Pitch) is your chance to shine right after "Tell me about yourself." Interviewers want a glimpse of your personality, relevance to the role, and communication skills—especially in technical interviews where nerves run high.

Behavioral Case Presentation

The process started with a recruiter phone screen. Then, there was a panel interview with three interviewers, where two other candidates were also interviewing at the same time. Each interviewer spoke with us for about 30 minutes. It was mostly behavioral questions, but they did ask for input on a case study. It's a good idea to review the attached potential interview questions, as they were quite similar to the ones I was asked.

So the interview process usually starts with you sending in your application, then there are some initial screenings to see if you're a good fit. If you pass that, you'll move on to some first interviews, maybe with a recruiter or HR person. For tech jobs, you'll likely do some technical tests to show what you know. Then there are behavioral interviews, often with your potential manager or teammates, where they ask about your past experiences and how you solve problems. Sometimes you'll have a panel interview with a few people. If you make it to the end, you might meet with some higher-ups or execs before they make an offer. They'll also do reference checks to confirm things, and once you accept, you'll start the onboarding to get you settled in. They try to keep communication clear throughout so it's a good experience for everyone.

Behavioral

I had a 20-minute phone call with a recruiter that was great; she was knowledgeable and detail-oriented and seemed impressed with me. I was told I'd hear back within a week for a management interview and got an email a few days later with a video interview link. In the video interview, I met with two managers. The female manager was nice and engaging, but the male interviewer dominated the conversation and seemed disengaged, which I didn't like. He asked me why I left my last company and really went through my resume, questioning why I moved to a lower-tier role there, which I explained was due to a company need. He also asked why I left my previous job when I had another one lined up, which I found unusual, thinking he might suspect I was fired. I explained I sought more challenge and growth, as advancement was limited. The recruiter mentioned they use the STAR method, and I mostly used it, but his resume scrutiny threw me off. The interview felt more casual, and perhaps that's where I missed something, because I didn't get an offer; they emailed me three days later stating I wasn't selected, leaving me unsure why.
