Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at CSAA Insurance Group, a AAA Insurer.
IT Analyst
I had a phone interview and then a panel interview with two people. I didn't hear back for over a month, and then the recruiter contacted me again to say the job was still open, but I had already accepted another offer.
- Can you describe your experience with Tableau and other data visualization tools?
Business Analyst
There was a 45 minute preliminary phone screening with HR first. Then, I had a multi-person panel interview at the main office with analysts and managers. Because it was an analyst position, the interview focused on analytic styles, types of equations, methodology, product exposure, career goals, and management style. It was a pleasant atmosphere and not too difficult since I was familiar with the job requirements. I received an offer within three weeks, which was close to what I wanted.
- Given your lack of experience in the insurance industry, how would you adapt your analytical approach for our insurance products?
Business Analyst
HR reached out to me to schedule an initial online skills assessment, which was pretty straightforward. After that, I had an hour-long interview with a manager and a senior team member. We talked about my skills and how I approach problems, and they seemed happy with my responses. Later that same day, they extended a job offer, pending a background check and drug test.
- Can you switch off your analytical thinking when needed?
