CRISIL Interview Questions
& Process

First we had an aptitude and technical test. The aptitude questions were easy, covering general topics like work, time, and distance. The technical part focused on Java. Then there was an L1 interview, which was also easy, asking about my projects and basic OOP concepts. Finally, an L3 interview, medium difficulty, where they went deeper into OOP concepts, exception handling, and collections.

I went through 3 interview stages, including a F2F presentation, but then got ghosted. The last stage involved a strategic presentation for a director role, which I didn't get to fully deliver. Instead, they asked me standard operational questions about setting up CI/CD pipelines. I kind of knew I wouldn't get an offer when during the strategic part of the presentation, one of the interviewers remarked, 'you've thought about this more than anyone in this company.' Considering I applied for a director position, if they treat senior candidates this way, I don't want to imagine how they treat junior ones.

There were two interview rounds. First, an HR phone call from London, where they talked about pay and the hybrid setup. Then, a Teams call with a hiring manager based in South Asia. He hinted at more interviews but then I got ghosted. The Teams call felt like a CFA level 1 test. No behavioral or culture questions, just a rundown of my work history, and then he hit me with CFA level 1 questions. I got them all right.

I went through 4 interview rounds in total. 3 were with the Crisil team and 1 was with the client. One of the rounds with Crisil was a managerial interview. The interview level was good, and we had a decent discussion about the team's environment and other important aspects. However, coordinating with HR was quite hectic. I cleared all the rounds, and we had a quick discussion about salary and the offer, but then they suddenly informed me that the role was put on hold, which was very disappointing and felt like a waste of time.
