Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at CRISIL.
Research Analyst
The interview process was fast. After being shortlisted, two technical rounds happened within a week of each other, and this was the day after I was initially shortlisted. There was some confusion with HR, as I was initially interviewed for a Lead role but then offered an Analyst position. I had to point this out, and they then told me my experience didn't qualify me for the lead role and offered me the senior analyst position instead.
- Could you explain the difference between operating leases and financing leases?
- Here's a small problem to evaluate your accounting abilities.
Research Analyst
It was a 2 round interview process. They asked questions about my previous work and finance. Then they asked about post graduation and the economy. They also asked about repo rates and ratios. Finally, they asked 'Why Crisil?', 'Why do you want to switch?', and if I had any questions for them.
- Can you explain what repo rate and reverse repo rate are?
- Could you describe your previous work experience?
- What are your thoughts on finance?
Research Analyst
I was first contacted on Linkedin and had an initial phone call. Then I scheduled an interview time with the team, and the next day they sent me some tasks to complete based on a PowerPoint and they analyzed my Excel skills.
- Tell me about your past experiences.
- Can you describe your experience with teamwork?
