This was a really drawn-out and kinda messy interview process, with 7 rounds in total. Scheduling was all over the place, including a cancelled recruiter call that I had to chase down myself. Then, a bunch of interviews were crammed together. The job seemed like a big turnaround project, but the pay wasn't great for the responsibility, especially with the company's recent troubles. Lots of leadership changes too, with VPs leaving and a short-lived CMO. The existing team seemed stressed out and were looking for someone to help stabilize things, which made me wonder about their alignment, workload, and resources. Just a heads-up, the process can be long, and the job might be way bigger and tougher than the title and pay suggest.

  • The situation here isn't really a turnaround, but can you share your experience with turnarounds and your approach, especially in older settings where it seems like all options have been exhausted?

I interviewed with the recruiter and then received an email stating that they would like to move me to the next round. I provided my availability, but never heard back. I followed up twice via email and never got a reply. While I understand if something changed or if they made a mistake, I'd appreciate an update rather than being ghosted, especially after being told I would advance. They mentioned internal candidates were being considered, so even an update that someone internally was selected would be appreciated. It’s unfortunate because I was excited about this role.

Behavioral Technical

So I interviewed for a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer - Java/React role at Constant Contact. The start was pretty good, they communicated well and had several interview rounds. I talked with recruiters, tech leads, and team members, and things looked like they were moving along. But then, after the last interview in December, they totally ghosted me. I sent multiple follow-up emails and got nothing back, no update at all. It's a bummer to not get any closure, especially after putting in a lot of time to prep and interview. Getting ghosted at the very end is super unprofessional and says a lot about the company's culture and how they treat people. Even a simple rejection email would have been way better than just silence. If you're thinking about interviewing there, just know that communication might be a big issue after the interviews, even if you make it to the final stages. The process involved: recruiter screening, multiple technical interviews, and a final interview. But then, no response after I followed up. I wouldn't recommend interviewing here if you care about clear communication.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

I interviewed at Constant Contact in August of 2022. The whole process from recruiter screening to offer took about 2-3 weeks and went through a total of 6 interviews. I was given an offer a couple hours after my last interview. Overall I LOVED my interviewing experience at Constant Contact. The marketing/sales team was very welcoming and each interview was such a delight. They were very kind in letting me take 10 days to make my decision. I ultimately did not accept the offer because I was presented with a better offer. I was truly sad because the team I interviewed with was great.
