First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Constant Contact.
Senior Software Engineer
So I interviewed for a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer - Java/React role at Constant Contact. The start was pretty good, they communicated well and had several interview rounds. I talked with recruiters, tech leads, and team members, and things looked like they were moving along. But then, after the last interview in December, they totally ghosted me. I sent multiple follow-up emails and got nothing back, no update at all. It's a bummer to not get any closure, especially after putting in a lot of time to prep and interview. Getting ghosted at the very end is super unprofessional and says a lot about the company's culture and how they treat people. Even a simple rejection email would have been way better than just silence. If you're thinking about interviewing there, just know that communication might be a big issue after the interviews, even if you make it to the final stages. The process involved: recruiter screening, multiple technical interviews, and a final interview. But then, no response after I followed up. I wouldn't recommend interviewing here if you care about clear communication.
- Can you describe a project you're most proud of and detail your role in it?
Software Engineer
The interview had two technical interviewers from the company. It started with some tech questions and then moved on to coding exercises which got progressively harder. I thought it was better than automated interviews because we were able to discuss approaches and they explored the depth of my knowledge.
- Can you tell me about the most complex project you've been involved in?
Software Engineer
It was a pretty straightforward process. I connected with a recruiter I'd spoken with before, and we discussed open roles. We had a brief chat about my background and experience, and then they set up a series of in-person interviews for later that week. I came in, met the recruiter in the lobby, and then had back-to-back 30-minute interviews with five different team members. Everyone on the team seemed pretty laid-back and friendly.
- Do you have any opinions on various technologies?
- Can you discuss particular projects you've been involved in?
