Data Analyst
So, the process began with a quick chat with the recruiter. After that, I had a 30-minute call with the hiring manager, who seemed like the main person deciding on this. We mostly just talked about my background and went over my resume in detail. The last step was a one-hour onsite panel. It was with the hiring manager, a senior engineer, a senior data analyst, and a director. It was pretty technical, with questions about Python and SQL, and also asked me about how I'd handle data challenges in real situations. A few behavioral questions popped up too, plus more talk about my experience and past projects.
- Tell me about how you tackle real-world data challenges.
- Describe how you'd manage issues with data quality.
- Explain your approach to designing SQL queries.
Registered Nurse
So I interviewed with the manager, and honestly, the first thing that seemed off was she was half an hour late to our video call. She also didn't really go over what the next steps would be, like if I'd get the job or what to expect, although they did say they'd set up a tour so I could check out the unit. About a week later, I looked at my application status and it said I didn't get selected. A couple of days after that, the recruiter called to say the job was filled because my references hadn't responded. They mentioned I was still being considered though and that the position might open up again. A few weeks went by, and I followed up about that tour, and the recruiter said she'd talk to the manager and get back to me. It's been a month now, and I still haven't heard anything. Super unprofessional.
- Can you tell me about your strengths?
- What about your weaknesses?
- They asked standard nursing questions, like what's typically asked in nurse interviews. For instance, they asked about my strengths and weaknesses, and also other common situational and behavioral questions.
Certified Nurse Midwife
After two phone screenings, they scheduled me for an interview and covered my travel and hotel. The interview process included a site visit, a tour of the hospital and clinic, a luncheon panel interview, a social dinner with the team, a tour with a local real estate agent, and a meeting about benefits. The lunch interview had the recruiter, clinic manager, physicians, a midwife, the medical director, and the hospital COO. It was a great experience; everyone was nice, paid attention, and seemed genuinely interested in my answers and my questions. They clearly care about patient care, safety, evidence-based practice, and supporting their providers. I would have taken the job if I hadn't decided to move closer to my family.

Contract Specialist
I went through 2 interviews and the way I found out I did not get the job was by a generic email that said "We have reviewed your resume and have carefully considered your qualifications. While your skills are certainly impressive, we have selected another candidate for this position." I was a little surprised I did not at least get a real email letting me know that I was not chosen. Thank you for my resume? What about the actual interviews I did? Especially after waiting 3 weeks from my first interview until my 2nd interview.
