So the interview was pretty standard, three parts to it: first an aptitude test, then a technical interview, and finally an HR chat. The aptitude bit was mainly about reasoning and how I solve problems. The technical part dove into networking stuff like the OSI layers, TCP/UDP, DNS, and the difference between routers and switches, plus a good chunk on my past projects. The HR part was more laid-back, just asking about my strengths, if I was okay with relocating, and what my career aspirations are.

Confirmed questions2 questions
  • Can you explain the OSI layers?
  • What distinguishes TCP from UDP?

Behavioral

I recently had an interview with HR that was quite a negative experience. The interviewer was significantly late, and during the conversation, her phone rang twice. She explained she had to take the second call because it was possibly about her child's school. She then muted herself and spoke to someone, revealing her son was having a problem at school and she needed to leave early. This was a very unprofessional way to conduct an interview, and I found it to be a waste of my time.

Behavioral Technical

The interview will start with a welcome and introduction to the company, its values, and culture. Then, you'll be asked to introduce yourself, highlighting your professional background, skills, and achievements. Expect detailed questions about your previous experience, responsibilities, and how they match the role. They might assess your specific skills for the food retail sector like stock management, product knowledge, and customer relations, asking for examples. They'll want to know why you want to work for Colruyt and if you understand their values regarding customer satisfaction and product quality. There will be scenario-based questions to evaluate your behavioral skills, like managing stress, resolving conflicts, or teamwork. Since retail can have flexible hours, they might ask about your availability. Finally, you'll have a chance to ask questions about the company, the role, or anything else, showing your interest.

Confirmed questions2 questions
  • Could you share an example of handling a busy period or a stressful situation in a retail environment, detailing how you managed priorities and maintained customer satisfaction?
  • Tell me about a time when you had to manage a peak period or a stressful situation in a retail setting. How did you organize your priorities and ensure customer satisfaction under these circumstances?
