First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at CHEP.
Analyst
First, there was an HR call to check my profile and the skills on my CV. Then, a call with the hiring manager for job-specific questions. After that, an Excel test, which I had to present. Finally, a call with the senior manager, and then they gave me the job offer.

Commercial Account Executive
The hiring process was quite involved. Started with a basic screening, then likely moved to a phone chat. There were also skill tests, and then I had to go in for one or more face-to-face meetings with the people in charge, sometimes as a group. It was important to be ready, show what I could do, and make a good impression all the way through.
- Why are you a good fit for this position?
Management Trainee
They start with an initial call, then I got invited to an assessment day. I only found out if it was actually happening 2 days before, which was pretty late. On the day, there were 3+ interviews, a group activity, and a case study. It was really focused on why CHEP should hire me and what they could do better, not so much on why I wanted to join them. The second interview felt like a test, they just asked me personal questions. When I asked about the company, they said they needed to get through their questions first. It was also odd to see other candidates in the same Zoom meeting. To top it off, they didn't even tell me the outcome, which is worse since I spent a whole day helping them with their company.

Logistic Coordinator
Got a call for an interview about a month after applying. The HR said it would be with one person, but there were actually two interviewers. One of the interviewers was quite critical of the other, which didn't reflect well on the department. The HR was unprofessional; they said I'd hear back in a week, but two weeks later, after I emailed for an update, I found out via my candidate account that I wasn't being considered. It turned out to be a good thing because I didn't know the salary and the hours seemed excessive. Despite my initial good impression of the company, I'm gladly accepting an offer from an FMCG company, thanks to the incompetent HR.
