Product Manager
I went to a walk-in interview at CARS24 in March 2026, which was unexpected for a senior position. They said all rounds would be done in one day, from 11 AM to 6 PM, so I decided to go. Upon arrival, I got an assignment with four questions, three about CARS24's products. While I was working on it, I was called for the first interview. It was a bad experience; the interviewer didn't introduce himself, didn't seem interested, hadn't reviewed my resume, and asked a basic product design question. He was on his phone the whole time I was answering. He ended the interview quickly to take a break. After I finished the assignment, HR said they'd contact me on Monday, which contradicted the same-day process promise. The whole thing felt like a disorganized campus placement, with many candidates doing similar assignments, not a proper senior-level hiring process.
- Can you design a lift for 1000 floors and its lobby, perhaps sketching it out on paper?

Software Development Engineer Intern
The interview had three parts. First, they tested my JavaScript and React knowledge, asking about things like closures, promises, the event loop, and React hooks and lifecycles. There were also some coding and output questions to check my problem-solving and async understanding. The second part was a machine coding round where I had to build a stopwatch app with React and TypeScript, focusing on code structure and state management. They also asked about optimizations and edge cases. Finally, there was an HR round to see if I fit the company culture, asking behavioral questions about teamwork, challenges, and my motivation. It was a pretty structured process, covering both tech skills and how I implement things.
- Can you describe the experience of building a stopwatch application using React and TypeScript?
AI Intern
So, there was this technical round, mainly about JS, React, and CSS. They hit me with theory and coding, covering core JS, React hooks, handling events, state, and styling. I nailed the theory stuff, but the JS coding problem? Couldn't crack it under pressure. HR initially said just one interview, but then the interviewer set up another one, probably to check my coding chops again. It's for an internship in Gurgaon, paying 35K/month for 3 months, with a chance for a PPO if I do well. Now I'm wondering if I should ditch my full-time job for this.
- Can you explain hoisting with regards to var, const, and let?
- How does setInterval work?
- Could you describe setTimeout?
Python Developer
It was a face-to-face interview at their Gurgaon office. It started with introductions and a project discussion. Then I was asked 2 easy-medium string questions and a couple of SQL questions based on window functions. I answered the Python questions but fumbled on the window functions. Coding was to be done in Python only. I didn't realize they'd ask SQL questions in depth. I suggest reviewing advanced SQL if you're interviewing with CARS24. Also, the HR didn't share the JD in the email; please share the JD via email so candidates know beforehand what to revise.
