Business Analyst
It was a 2 round interview process. The first round was a 30-minute professional call focusing on Excel and SQL questions, along with a case study on lead generation for Cars24. The interviewer was very encouraging. The second round felt quite rude, but I managed to answer all questions. They asked for my introduction, job role explanation, and future aspirations. There were also some formula questions for Google Sheets and SQL concepts like UNION vs JOINs. They presented a complex SQL question that was poorly worded. After some discussion, I pointed out the flaws in the question, which the interviewer acknowledged but criticized my time to solve it. It felt like I dodged a bullet given the organization's issues.
- Tell me about yourself.
- Basic questions on Excel and SQL, including vlookup, index match, joins, and unions.
- What are your career goals for the next 5 years?
Business Analyst
It was a 2-round interview process that took about 3-4 days. The first was technical, and the second was with the hiring manager. They were kind and helpful interviews. We did a case study, discussed marketing metrics, and did an RCA.
- Questions about SQL window functions.
- Strategies for enhancing website customer conversion.
Business Analyst
I did an assignment and went through 3 rounds of interviews. No HR was involved in the entire interview process. Even though I clearly stated my expected CTC when applying and talked about it again during the interviews, the offer was much lower than what I expected and also lower than market standards. When I raised my concerns, I was told that the final interviewer wanted to reject my candidature because of my salary expectations. My question is why didn't they tell me in the first step itself so I didn't have to go through 3 rounds and be hopeful? They can't give more than a 20-25% hike when switching, which is quite low on already low salaries. So, I declined.
- SQL questions about window functions, joins
- Excel questions using sumif, countif, etc.
- Case studies involving selecting datasets for analysis when a problem arises
