Frontend Developer
The interview process started with a Redux assignment where I had to fetch data, list the results, and add pagination. Then, there were questions about SSR and my previous experience. The next round was a managerial interview where I was asked about my motivation for joining and my reasons for leaving my previous job.
- You were given a Redux assignment to fetch data, list the results, and implement pagination. Could you tell me more about that?
- What are your thoughts on Server-Side Rendering (SSR)?
- Can you discuss your previous work experience?
Frontend Developer
It was an ondrive interview with about 50 people. There were total 3 rounds. The first two were technical and the last one was managerial. The HR mentioned that the feedback was positive and they would call on Monday for the final discussion. However, after a couple of days, when I called the HR, she said the position was put on hold. After 2 weeks, I saw the same opening posted on LinkedIn but they didn't call me back. It's unclear why they couldn't just tell me they weren't moving forward with my application. In the final round, there were 4-5 candidates including myself. They usually inform those who cleared the first two rounds but told us they would 'connect on Monday'.
- Could you implement a caching function?
- Can you answer questions based on promises and hoisting?
- How would you design a nested comment system similar to Reddit?
Front End Developer
The interview had two rounds. The first was a technical screen with basic javascript questions. The second was a machine coding round using React, based on the Grid Lights problem from the RoadsideCoder YouTube channel. Even though I completed the React machine coding round, I was rejected. The feedback was that I didn't answer questions about webpack and lacked web development experience. I told them the interviewer didn't ask about webpack and that I do have relevant web development experience. I feel the interviewer didn't review my resume properly and was just interviewing for the sake of it.
- Can you explain currying?
- What are closures in JavaScript?
- Explain the concept of Prototype in JavaScript.
