Accountant
The interview process kicked off with a brief HR phone call to check background, salary expectations, and general fit. Following that, I had an onsite interview with the Regional Finance Leader and Regional Controller. This onsite was more of a conversation about my actual work history rather than a deep dive into technical accounting. We talked about multi-entity accounting, the month-end close process, how I communicate with operations, and managing deadlines. They also gave me the lowdown on how the accounting department is set up and what the workload is like, especially around closing periods. The start of the process was pretty quick, but things slowed down after the interview.

Tech Solutions Intern
Great, they asked a good amount of questions on the phone part, which was 15 minutes long. Honestly, coming prepared and asking follow-up questions is great! I would recommend knowing a personal project of yours that you can talk about and a team situation.
- What are your thoughts on the future of technology?
- Tell me about a personal project you've worked on.
- Describe a situation you encountered within a team.
Training Administrator
I had an initial interview with Herah, the Talent Acquisition Professional, and another employee who the role was under. I was overqualified for this role, but I knew this was a good company to grow in. I also had a reference from within the company. Some of the questions were a little unique but nothing crazy. The final question was about my salary expectations. After answering, based on my master's degree, a few years of experience in similar roles, and based on research I have done on the pay for similar roles at the company, Herah looked shocked and responded, "Isn't this your first full-time job? We don't have near that budgeted for this." I am not sure how she thought, after a full interview with me about previous jobs and my current job, that this was my first full-time role... but as a Talent Acquisition "Professional," this response was very unprofessional. I understand there is a budget, but to diminish my experience and education with both facial expressions and an uniformed question is incredibly rude. I chose to withdraw my application after this experience.
- What topic would you choose for a Ted Talk?
- What are your salary expectations?
Project Manager
So I started with a phone interview with an internal recruiter. Then, I had a panel interview with the direct supervisor, the department manager, and the implementation manager. After that, there was a 'meet the team' interview with colleagues and the direct supervisor. Later, I had ANOTHER interview with the direct manager and department manager. They ended up sending an email saying they picked someone with insurance experience, which felt like a total waste of my time given what was on my resume.
- Can you share an instance where a project deadline was missed?
- Did you personally author your resume?
- Have you completed any PMP courses?
