First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at BRG.
Summer Associate
This role is with the integrated health solutions team. First, there's a quick screening call to review your resume. After that, they'll send you a case study two days before your next interview. This case involves a spreadsheet and a slide deck that you'll need to complete, which takes a few hours. Then, you'll present your findings from the case and go over your resume again with two team members in the second interview. The third interview will be a behavioral session with a director.

Associate Consultant
The interviewers were nice and I moved through the process really fast. Then I never heard from the recruiter and had to call them to ask about a decision timeline because I had other offers. I ended up never hearing back and found out the job was filled because the person who got it posted about it on LinkedIn. I liked the interviews themselves, but getting ghosted and then finding out via LinkedIn that the job went to someone else is a bad feeling.

Managing Consultant
It was a super long interview process, even though they initially considered me for a more senior role! First, there was an HR chat, then a call with an MD, followed by a personality and aptitude test. After that, I had an Excel case interview, then a case interview with a Director, and finally, an in-person case interview. The number of stages felt excessive, given the current job market. The final case interview was particularly odd; it was 1.5 hours instead of a typical two-day take-home assignment. It felt like it was designed to get superficial solutions rather than deep dives into client problems. The company seems to focus on execution, like cutting jobs or closing locations for struggling businesses, often backed by former partners from rival firms like AlixPartners. Honestly, the whole experience, from the company to the interview process and the work itself, felt ridiculous.

The interview process was quite long, which was disappointing given the company's difficulty in making decisions and their disregard for candidates' time. It started with a screening call in mid-April. Then, in early June, there was an office interview that included an Excel test. Following that, in late June, another in-office interview with a MD took place, lasting an hour. In early July, a Zoom interview with another MD was conducted, and an offer was expected. However, I was then informed I needed to meet with two more MDs for office interviews. These were scheduled, then canceled, rescheduled, and canceled again, sometimes on the day before or the morning of the interview due to scheduling conflicts. The recruiter was pleasant but unhelpful, stating that everyone was at will to the MDs. After the second cancellation, I withdrew my candidacy. I was very let down because I was eager to join the company, but their disorganization and indecisiveness were evident.
