Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at BRG.
Corporate Finance Analyst
The interviewer seemed distracted and was eating during my interview. They also turned off their camera without notice and were quite condescending and derogatory. I got to the second round, which was a monitored Zoom assessment, but I withdrew from the process.
- Can you discuss a recent news story about a company bankruptcy?
Corporate Finance Analyst
Thought the first interview would be just behavioral, definitely was not. It involved a verbal case including accounting and a situation of a business in bankruptcy. You would definitely need to be sound on all things accounting, as it's pretty necessary to know. And generally be ready to think like a business person. Liked the two MDs who interviewed me.
- Can you define working capital?
- Could you answer some other accounting-related questions?
- Describe your approach to a verbal case about accounting and a business facing bankruptcy.
Corporate Finance Associate
This role has a two-round interview process. The first round is a 2-on-1 behavioral interview, with no case study involved. However, if you've listed yourself as a finance major, be prepared for potential technical questions about cash flows and financial statements. Following the first round, successful candidates will move on to a Super Day, which involves four 45-minute interviews. Before this Super Day, you'll be given an Excel case study to complete and submit.
- Could you list the main components of an income statement?
- What's your perspective on the current state and future of the retail industry?
- What draws you to a career in consulting?
