Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at BRG.
Managing Consultant
It was a super long interview process, even though they initially considered me for a more senior role! First, there was an HR chat, then a call with an MD, followed by a personality and aptitude test. After that, I had an Excel case interview, then a case interview with a Director, and finally, an in-person case interview. The number of stages felt excessive, given the current job market. The final case interview was particularly odd; it was 1.5 hours instead of a typical two-day take-home assignment. It felt like it was designed to get superficial solutions rather than deep dives into client problems. The company seems to focus on execution, like cutting jobs or closing locations for struggling businesses, often backed by former partners from rival firms like AlixPartners. Honestly, the whole experience, from the company to the interview process and the work itself, felt ridiculous.

Senior Consultant
So, first I had this chill in-person chat over coffee with the hiring manager, who is the MD. Then, a recruiter called me up to go over the interview steps and some HR stuff. Finally, I went in for an on-site where I met with about 5 or 6 people from the team.

Consultant
It was great overall. They were super accommodating and fun. There were 3 phone interviews and 1 in person interview. The recruiter was helpful in the process! I recommend coming prepared with a lot of questions for the in person interview and be prepared to give a sales pitch about yourself.
