Behavioral

The screening call left me with a negative impression of the company. The recruiter I spoke with frequently said 'I am not sure' or 'I don't attend those company events.' It felt like they weren't invested in my candidacy and seemed out of touch with company policies, which is a major concern. They avoided stating salary expectations for the role, only pushing to get a number from me. Also, only having 10 official PTO days isn't much to boast about.

Behavioral Technical

This was a screener interview to see if I might be a good fit for future roles. It felt like a casual chat. We talked about skills for the specific role, general behavioral stuff, and my work ethic. They suggested we stay in touch, but I haven't reached out yet. I figure I need to be the one to follow up since there are many people looking for these jobs right now.

So, first you usually have like an initial screening, right? It could be a phone call or like an online test thing. They just wanna see if you kinda fit the bill, like if you have the basic qualifications and stuff. They'll probably ask about your experience, what you studied, and any skills you got that are relevant. It's also your chance to like, find out more about the job and the company.

Technical Presentation

I interviewed for the UX Designer role. The first step was a technical interview that felt easy, covering some UX questions and a portfolio review. After that, they gave me a design assignment. Then, they scheduled another technical interview to go over the design assignment. They initially gave me only two days for the assignment, expecting user research, personas, market research, competitive analysis, user journeys, and wireframes showing the flow – basically a whole case study in 48 hours. Despite that, I managed to conduct surveys, gather requirements, and finish the assignment on time. I thought I'd get a decision after the technical interview and assignment submission, but they scheduled a third interview to review the case study, which is unusual. I had already shown them my portfolio and case studies, and my first technical interview went well, yet they seemed to judge me based on the interview for the 2-day design assignment.

Confirmed questions5 questions
  • Can you explain heuristic evaluation?
  • What is a good example of UX?
  • Could you show me your case studies?
