HR emailed me, never responded to me to schedule a date and time. The hiring manager called me a few days later to do a quick screening. We scheduled a formal interview at that time. Interview went well, and I was invited to do a technical exercise. When that was done, I went on-site for a sit-down with the team. Met with the hiring manager again to schedule time with the C-suite he reported to. I was assured that we would be in touch. 1 week, no response. 2nd week I emailed for follow-up. No response. I was ghosted.

The initial phone prescreen was brief, but then the job opening was canceled without any communication. The screening itself took about an hour because the role required very specific skills for a cleared position, which can be challenging. I already have the clearance and recently went through an adjudication process.

I sent in my application online. The first step was a call where they inquired about my professional history and current projects. It had a few technical elements, but nothing too demanding. I also took the opportunity to ask them about the product and the role itself. Although the conversation went smoothly, and I felt a good connection with the person I spoke with, I was ultimately rejected with a standard message stating that my profile wasn't the right fit. I tried to get more details, as my profile was clearly sufficient for the initial interview, but my follow-up email was not answered.
