First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Battelle.
Intern
had a phone call with HR, then a technical take-home coding assignment that wasn't too difficult, followed by a full team meeting, and then got the offer. It was a great interview process overall and I'm very excited to intern here.

Intern
I applied really late in January and didn't hear back until the end of March. The first step was a phone screen with the recruiter where we just talked about my resume. The scheduled call time passed and I ended up having to call the recruiter to get it rescheduled for the following week, because he totally forgot. The rescheduled call went fine, and a few days later I was invited for an in-person interview in early April with the department manager. The interview was pretty standard, mostly situational questions about my experiences, and she told me about the internship. It ended with me giving an elevator speech, and I felt like we really connected, so I was pretty confident. She said I'd hear back by Wednesday, but I didn't. I emailed to check on the status at the end of the week but got no response. Another week went by, I called the manager and left a voicemail, still no response. I called the recruiter and was told they were still deciding. Two more weeks passed, making it a month since my interview. I called again, but neither the recruiter nor the manager answered. I figured I didn't get the internship. Finally, today, 3.5 months after applying and 1.5 months after interviewing, I got an automated email saying the position was canceled. I'm not sure if they hired anyone or not, but this whole process was incredibly unprofessional. Even a simple email from a person would have been better. I really wanted to intern there, but after this experience, I'm glad I didn't end up working there. Don't bother applying.
- What is your elevator speech on why you want to work here if I, my boss, and the CEO are in the elevator with you?
Co-Op
It started with a quick screening video call where they went over the role and asked some questions. Then, I had an in-person meeting with 5 senior people. They gave me the job offer a few days later, so it was all pretty fast.
