Candidate-reported interview process

I applied online and then got an email. After that I had a chat interview with the hiring manager. I then completed a paid trial period. I never talked to anyone by phone or video. You interact only with people through posts and comments. Well-intentioned, but imperfect process. This was around 2018. Not sure how they do it now

The interview was conducted via Slack. You had to walk them through a chat customer service interaction. First, you were given a take-home assignment with issues to solve, and you had to send in how to fix them or actually fix them.

I had an initial chat with HR, and then there was a technical test. For the technical test, I had to add some requirements to an existing application they provided on Github. Unfortunately, I didn't pass this test.
