Candidate-reported interview process

The whole process took around 3-4 months from application to offer and background check. We had 5 rounds: first, a phone screen with HR. Then, a 1-on-1 with the hiring manager/director. After that, a small group panel with other managers/supervisors. Next was an in-person skills assessment. Finally, an interview with the VP. The interviewers were really communicative, organized, patient, welcoming, and knew their stuff. I think the position was super competitive and deals with sensitive cases, so they really needed to do their homework on candidates.

The entire interview process felt like it took forever, over three months of actually interviewing and four months since I applied. It was a lot mentally. I tried following up a bunch but only got a generic rejection email almost a month after my last interview. Honestly, it felt too long and kind of unprofessional. I get that jobs can be competitive, but this much time and effort from me should be unacceptable, even if they offered me the job. I really hope ASPCA can make their hiring process better and quicker for everyone. The actual interviews were fine though, and the people were nice.

The interview process was upfront, and they provided guidance on how to prepare, which was super useful. All interviews were done online, and there were four stages in total. Although I didn't have to do a task, I did submit work samples. The questions they asked were fair and focused on behavior.
