They first called me to their office and gave a computer assignment. After that, I had a technical interview, followed by another round of technical discussion. Then, I had a final round with the MD. The MD was bargaining over the package like one would bargain when buying vegetables. I found this unprofessional behavior very surprising and decided then and there not to proceed with this company. If the MD acts this way, I can't imagine the work environment.
The recruiter was really irresponsible. I’m a visual designer but I had to go through two rounds of interviews with UX designers, and then she just disappeared. After I asked about the interview structure and my background, she didn’t answer or apologize. It’s a bad recruiting process, and AKQA lets incompetent people recruit talent, which is a shame.
Had a couple of chats with all the vertical team members focused on the client. Generally, it was more of a casual conversation than a content-focused interview. The HR person was very involved throughout the three weeks it took to conduct the interviews and make the job offer.
