AKQA Strategy Analyst interviews, decoded.

It took a while to get the interview set up with HR, with a lot of back and forth, but since I had an internal referral, things felt a bit more accountable. In total, the process lasted about 6 weeks, involving phone screens, four in-person interviews, and then waiting for a response. The biggest delays seemed to come from HR. The team members I spoke with were really friendly and responsive. There were significant gaps between interviews and follow-ups with HR, which might have been because they were interviewing other candidates.

It was a standard interview process. First, I met with an HR person to discuss agency culture and my skill sets. Then, I had a meeting with a member of the strategy team where we talked about projects and approaches, and I walked them through some sample projects. The final meeting was with the head of strategy, where I showed more work, discussed the role within the group, and my personal ambitions to strategically evolve the team.

The interview process was solely based on networking. I got in touch with a recruiter who was hiring for the position in New York and they helped me secure the interview. The initial phone interview was straightforward, mainly focused on scheduling the next step, which was dependent on my qualifications. The in-person interview was brief, under 20 minutes, and involved hypothetical scenarios about the type of strategy work or accounts I'd handle and how I'd approach problem-solving.
