Director
I applied for the Director PE role in NYC. The whole interview was short and somewhat unprofessional. The interviewer tried at every turn to negate my experience. I’m looking to move from direct investing to LP / allocation. The interviewer asked me about a deal I did 5 years ago and asked me who’s the banker after I mentioned the bank running the deal. I said it’s a long time ago I don’t remember, he then proceeded to conclude that I must have not worked closely on that deal and said he knows other people in my organization and what’s the level of involvement they have. He also asked why I would want to go from direct investing to LP investing, I said that in direct investing, many firms don’t have an infrastructure of retaining women after maternity leave (I’m female) and I want to pivot my career to continue to use my investments muscle but do it in a sustainable way. Interviewer ended the interview right there and said that’s not the right motivation. He wants to make sure it’s not a lifestyle job but I think that’s way beside the point - and not even what I was saying. In future perhaps they should just not interview candidates they have no interest in rather than finding ways to turn them down.

Actuarial Intern
First there was a HireVue, then about a week later I signed up for a virtual interview day. It was a bunch of three 45-minute interview sessions. Each session had 2 interviewers. It honestly just depends on who your interviewers are since one of mine was kinda rude and boring.

Reinsurance F&I Administrator
The interview process was really quick. They did a background check but no drug test. There were two interviews, the first one was with the recruiter and the second one with the hiring manager. The conversation was casual and it was virtual. I got the job offer pretty fast, but they really don’t negotiate pay or PTO, you get what they offer.
- Can you describe a time you had to handle a difficult customer?
AI Ops Engineer
A recruiter reached out to me and asked some basic questions. After that, my application was passed to the hiring manager. Once it moved forward from there, I had my first interview with the manager. The conversation was pretty high-level, focusing on how I'd fit with the team. After passing that, I had one technical round where they went through my resume and asked me questions about my experience and some technical follow-up questions.
- Can you discuss your background and experience?
