First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at ZL Technologies.
Business Development Representative
They reached out to schedule an interview about a week after I applied, but it got delayed by a bit over a month because of some health issues. After that, they asked some basic demographic questions like my citizenship, where I'm from, if I'd relocate, my graduation date, and what kind of jobs I'm looking for. Then, after about 5 minutes, the interviewer sent a link for an online assessment, and I was left to complete it on my own. It was a timed test with 16 minutes to answer 50 math questions. They were pretty straightforward math questions, probably easy if you're good at math, but I tend to take a bit longer to figure some problems out.
- Where do you hail from?
- Are you open to relocating for this position?
- Is it acceptable for you to work in the office 5 days a week?
Software Engineer
It was a straightforward process. Round 1 was about basic DSA and basic OOPS, with 3 DSA questions. Round 2 was supposed to be technical too, but it ended up being an HR round. They're big on Java, so proficiency there is a plus. The interviewers were pretty chill, and the overall vibe was relaxed. They really wanted to check if the basics were clear.
- Where do you envision yourself in the next five years?
Corporate Recruiter
The first interview was a phone screen with a recruiter, and it went okay. He asked a lot of questions and seemed genuinely interested in my experience. The next step was a Zoom interview with the CEO. I was surprised that an entry-level individual contributor role would interview with the CEO. Apparently, this position reports to the CEO, which was a red flag for me. The interview itself was awkward, and it was clear he wasn't a good interviewer. Towards the end, he had me complete an IQ assessment that I felt was irrelevant to the job. The interview questions were random, poorly planned, and some were not relevant. I never heard back about the next steps, not even an email or any communication. Honestly, I wouldn't have wanted to move forward anyway, but I felt it was in poor taste to not send a rejection after the interview.
No confirmed questions were included in this interview report.
Sales Executive
Had several interviews with the hiring manager and team members which went well. The 90-day plan was okay. Then there was a CEO test, which was stupid. References were required before the final interview with the CEO. Honestly, that interview was a joke. The CEO didn't seem to want to hire anyone, and the interview itself was a joke. I wouldn't represent that guy even for triple the pay. He said he started the business because he 'didn't have anything better to do', which is uninspiring. I wouldn't have accepted the offer anyway, but I don't think he actually wanted to fill the position. They've been advertising this same job for over 2 years, best I can tell. Don't waste your time.
- Could you explain the difference between Structured and Unstructured data?
