First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at World Vision International.
Project Manager
It was a three-stage interview process. First, the recruitment interview, which included basic HR questions and then technical questions related to the role. Next was the hiring manager interview, which was technical to the role. Finally, the senior management interview focused on questions about relating with management and other team members.
- Tell me about a time you had to deal with a difficult stakeholder.
- What projects have you handled in the digital space, including the challenges and how you overcame them?
Human Resources Business Partner
It was a great process with a really kind and thoughtful recruiter who helped me through each step. The waiting can feel long, but she always kept in touch and kept me moving forward! I loved the company and learning about the culture. The team was great and the panel interviews were thoughtful and challenging. You should come prepared with answers and examples!
- What is your motivation for wanting to work at World Vision?
- Could you share more about your faith journey and the significance of Jesus in your life?
- What qualities and experiences make you an effective business partner?
Child Protection Officer
The interview process was pretty structured. It kicked off with a written test done virtually, followed by an oral interview with a panel of 3 people. The process itself was okay, but what was really unfortunate was the ghosting. It's sad that an organization like that would ghost candidates. Basic courtesy of giving feedback wasn't in their vocabulary even after two tough interviews. Plus, the communication takes ages between the first and second interviews. To make things even worse, any follow-up about the interview outcome gets no response.
- Can you explain your understanding of safeguarding?
- What is your understanding of Christian Ethos?
Business Development Manager
My experience interviewing with World Vision was really positive. The whole process moved quickly and they seemed to put a lot of thought into it. I could tell that the recruiter and manager made an effort to add personal touches, which made me feel really welcome. I especially appreciated the Christian aspects of the interviews; I was prayed for and felt encouraged. They also shared details about WV's culture, which was super helpful for me. I was offered the job and accepted right away because I truly love World Vision.
- Can you share about your Christian faith?
- How have you approached working with teams from different cultures?
