First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Wellington Management.
Investment Analyst
The interview process for this product management role started with an HR screener. After that, there were 3 behavioral interviews, followed by an in-person case study. To wrap it up, there were 3 more behavioral interviews mixed with some technical questions. The whole thing took about 4 months. They ended up ghosting me, which was pretty unprofessional, even though the people I talked to were nice.
- What led you to make specific career decisions or pursue certain degrees?
- Describe how you would present a client with a portfolio that hasn't performed well.
- What are your thoughts on the current market?
Human Resources Coordinator
I went through a number of interviews where I got to meet different people on the team, both in person and virtually through Zoom. The process was well planned and had a clear structure, making each part feel meaningful and engaging. I liked how they balanced formal checking with casual chats. I had many chances to ask questions, not just about the job, but also about the company vibe, how the team works together, and what the daily routine is like. Everyone I talked to was friendly and open, giving me a real feel for what it would be like to work there.
- Can you describe your experience in your previous position?
Business Associate
I had two 30-minute interviews with team members. Then, the next round consisted of two 30-minute interviews with another team member and the global controller. The questions were all behavioral and pretty basic. I was also allowed to ask most of the questions, so they only asked about 1-2 questions per 30-minute interview slot. It felt like a conversation, as most questions would build on the previous one.
- How do you decide what to prioritize when faced with multiple tasks and deadlines?
Senior Software Engineer
The recruiter reached out on LinkedIn, and I sent my resume. We had a phone screen where they asked about my desired salary. Then, I had an initial on-site with a staff member. It was just conversation, no coding. The next stage was a full-day on-site with the team, manager, and stakeholder. People came to a conference room to meet me. Some meetings were remote calls. Mostly informal resume-based chats, but the manager asked behavioral questions. I got lunch provided. They mentioned the final round would be two days long.
- Tell me about your resume.
- Can you answer some behavioral questions?
- What are your salary expectations?
