First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Wellington Management.
Administrative Assistant
I applied through a staffing agency and the entire process took about 3 weeks. First, I had an in-person interview with their in-house recruiter, which lasted about 25 minutes and was mainly a discussion about my resume. About 1-2 weeks later, I had a 2.5-hour second step. This involved one-on-one interviews back-to-back with four people: two management staff from the department, one HR person, and the current AA leaving the role. They provided an interview schedule beforehand, and everything ran on time. They asked many questions to assess if I was a good culture fit and about my past experience and career path, suggesting they seek a long-term employee. The following week, I had a 2-hour third step with three people back-to-back: the department head, a senior person in the department, and a more senior executive. This round was more challenging, focusing on my past experience and what kind of employee I was and how I'd fit in. I received an interview schedule again, and it ran on time. I got an offer the next day with a one-day decision deadline.
- You should do your research on the firm and your interviewers beforehand regarding questions like, "Why Wellington?"
Executive Assistant
The interview process felt very cold and clinical. The Admin Manager interviewer was more interested in grilling me with rapid-fire questions than having a real conversation. They didn't try to build rapport or make me comfortable to show my skills. I felt scrutinized and every word was checked. The questions were mechanical and impersonal, like they were just going through a checklist.
- Lots of competency-based questions.
- Also, a calendar exercise test is needed.
Executive Assistant
The interview process was really engaging! I spoke with nine people from various levels at the company, including those I would directly support. It felt more like conversations than an interrogation, and I felt welcomed by the company throughout the whole experience!
- Tell me about your career aspirations.
- What would you say are your greatest strengths?
- What are some areas you consider to be your weaknesses?
