This was a really strange interview, the interviewer seemed angry and annoyed with no personality. She asked a lot of questions, and I gave detailed answers. At the end, I found out the salary, which was insulting. I wouldn't have wasted my time if I'd known the pay beforehand. They should be more upfront about compensation.

The hiring process was straightforward, equitable, and moved at a good pace. I was always aware of the next steps and never felt left in the dark. Initially, I spoke with the hiring manager and an HR representative. Following that, I completed a 90-minute SQL assessment, which I felt I had adequate time to prepare for. Subsequently, I met with the business stakeholder I would be supporting and a member of the Data Analytics team. The final stage involved two interviews with the hiring manager and their superior. In total, there were several 30-60 minute discussions, and I received updates throughout the process.

The recruiter asked about async/await, API experience, TypeScript, microservices, React Hooks, and Docker/Kubernetes. Salary info was vague and seemed low. They asked multiple times why I'm job searching. The hiring manager was unclear about the team and role details. It sounds like they have a modern tech stack and good work-life balance. There were two technical rounds: one focused on React, the other on algorithms. During the algorithm round, the interviewer's interruptions made it hard to think. Zoom links were sometimes sent last minute. Everyone was friendly and I got a good impression of work-life balance, but the overall candidate experience needs improvement.

After applying online, I heard back from a recruiter within a week. The initial 30-minute chat with the recruiter was very pleasant. Following that, I received a straightforward take-home challenge to showcase my data science abilities, which should be simple for anyone with experience. A few days later, the recruiter contacted me again for a good 30-minute conversation with the hiring manager. The next step was an onsite interview loop, comprising five 45-minute interviews, except for a 30-minute meeting with the project manager. All interactions were with genuine, friendly people who seemed enthusiastic about their work. The interviews included some typical get-to-know-you behavioral questions, alongside a mix of ML system design and real-world ML case study questions.
