Marketing Manager
I applied online and heard back from a recruiter within a month. The recruiter asked some general questions about my background and told me about the company. It seemed to go well, and I was invited to interview with the Director of Lifestyle and Field Marketing. After signing an NDA, I scheduled the meeting. Everything was confirmed. But then, 30 minutes before the interview, the Director canceled without any explanation! I emailed to see if it was a mistake or if we needed to reschedule, but I never got a reply. No rescheduling happened, and no reason was given for the cancellation. It was pretty unprofessional for a brand like WeedMaps, and ghosting a candidate without a word is disrespectful and says a lot about their culture and how they view potential employees. Definitely one of the worst interview experiences I've had.

Product Analyst
a recruiter hit me up on linkedin. first, there was a screening call, and then i had a chat with the hiring manager. after that, i had to do a technical screen. it was mostly a few SQL questions to do in a time limit. the last round was a panel interview. i felt good about it all and it was a positive experience, though i didn't end up getting an offer.
- Were you asked a self-join question in SQL?
Sales Leader
The first call with the hiring manager started about 15 minutes late, which was pretty inconvenient as I had to shuffle my current work meetings and had a strict time limit. They jumped straight into questions without any intro. They asked about my background and explained their business goals and what they were looking for in this hire. I didn't get a chance to ask my questions before they moved me to the next stage. The next step was a simulation/case study that took about 6 hours to complete with the required detail, even though the scenarios weren't too tough. Some parts were a bit unclear, especially with certain terms and how they define recurring business. I submitted the case study a day early and was told by the recruiter I'd hear back in about a week for a panel interview. After a week, I followed up and was told the hiring manager was out, so I'd have to wait another week. I waited another week, and then a whole month passed. I eventually gave up because it's been almost 3 months with no word. I get that there might be a lot of candidates or maybe my case study wasn't up to par, but the lack of communication and consideration for my time is unacceptable. Honestly, even if they reached out now, I'd probably pass because their treatment of candidates makes me question how they treat actual employees.

FP&A Manager
I had a good initial chat with the recruiter and the hiring manager, but it went downhill after that. I was given a case study to do, which I then presented to the Senior Director of FP&A. He seemed to like my presentation and gave me positive feedback. However, I received a rejection email the next day, although they did offer direct feedback. I was hoping to understand how I could improve, but instead, I got a vague write-up about my general traits in incomplete sentences, which felt dishonest and lacked any real substance. Since I never got a clear explanation on why I didn't get the job or what I could have done better, I'm actually glad it didn't work out. Based on reviews, I probably wouldn't want to work there anyway.
- Are you open to working overtime, as this is not a company that strictly adheres to 9-6 hours?
