It started with a recruiter phone screen, then a 30-minute chat with the hiring manager. After that, there was a panel with folks from engineering, product, and design. The final stage was a panel with the executive team.

Behavioral Case Presentation

This was a super quick and communicative interview process. I've been a PM for almost 10 years at big companies, and this was the most thorough and well-thought-out evaluation I've ever had. Weedmaps wasn't even on my radar, but they sold me during the interviews, even while I was interviewing with Google, Amazon, and Facebook. The case study exercise really showed me how much this company invests in its employees and ensures a good fit for both sides. Google and Facebook have similar questions, but you don't get 5 days and your choice of format. They give you surprise hypotheticals in quick 30-60 minute interviews, which limits showing all your skills. You're expected to show technical, analytical, creative, and people skills in a short verbal interview. While Weedmaps does that too, you get more chances. I'm not great at talking numbers in interviews but I'm good at showing data. Getting 5 days to visually show my PM experience for a hypothetical case, chosen by me, was awesome. It let me show how I think and communicate ideas visually. Even though Facebook and Amazon offered me jobs, I chose Weedmaps and am super happy I did. It's been a great experience.

The interview process was pretty smooth overall. The recruiter was super responsive the whole time. It started with a 30-min phone screen with the recruiter, then a 45-min video interview with the VP of Product. After that, there was a 45-min in-person group interview with two Sr. PMs and two Product Designers. There was supposed to be a fourth stage with a product challenge, but I didn't get that far. The team seemed really professional and knew their stuff.
