First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Vizient.
Associate Principal
It was a multi-part interview. I started with the recruiter for a screener that also served to level-set. Then, I had a 30-minute conversational Teams interview with the Hiring Manager. After that, I had a 45-minute Teams interview with the peer group, which was conversational but got more technical. Next, I had a conversational, semi-technical interview with the hiring manager's peer, where we talked about business growth. The final interview was with another peer of the hiring manager, and it was very conversational. The hiring manager said they'd make a decision within 10 days. The whole process took two weeks after the recruiter screener, and 7 days after the initial hiring manager interview. I followed up with the recruiter a week later, and then again a week after that. The recruiter was responsive but had no updates, just saying they hadn't heard from the hiring manager. A week after my last contact, the recruiter emailed to say they were revisiting the job description as they weren't sure what they were looking for, and they wouldn't be moving forward with my application. The recruiter was responsive and a bright spot in an overall negative experience.

Director of Engineering
The interview process started with a recruiter call to discuss the role and screen my resume. If the hiring manager (AVP) approved, an interview date would be set. Next, I had an interview with the hiring manager, who then advanced me to the final on-site interview. This involved four peer interviewers, all directors, two from training and two from engineering. They seemed unsure about the exact role I would be placed in, which was a bit concerning but I didn't let it bother me at the time. The interviews themselves went well, with no major issues. I asked some prepared questions at the end, and two directors appreciated them. Ultimately, I wasn't hired and received no feedback, which was frustrating. I later noticed the position was reposted and remained open for a while.

FP&A Manager
The hiring manager seemed to know exactly what they were looking for and was very knowledgeable and strategic. However, there was miscommunication between the manager and their team, and HR seemed confused about their job. While the hiring manager was on PTO, HR made a decision not to reject me via email, based on the team's response. Then, a week later, they called late in the evening to reject me again. Suddenly, they became confused about why I was questioning them about the purpose of the call.
- How would you deal with a toxic supervisor?
Data Scientist
The interview process started with a round with a current fellow, focusing on ML basics and projects. Then, there was a second round with the DS manager, which covered project details and behavioral questions like teamwork, follow-up technical questions, and challenges. Unfortunately, I was rejected at the Senior Manager round. In general, the interview was pretty standard, and the team seemed really nice.
