Vizient Analyst Interview Questions
& Process

The interview was pretty standard. First, there was a screening call, and then I had one or two chats with people on the team. They asked questions that were both behavioral and technical, about thinking analytically, solving problems, and how things work in the real world. It felt pretty chill, and I got to ask my own questions too.

I applied on LinkedIn and was immediately contacted by a VP at Vizient. We spoke for 30 minutes about the role, my background, and interest. Since I was interested, the VP set up an in-person interview for the next morning at their Oakland office. The next day, I met with the VP and a senior analyst. They asked about my background, projects, and reasons for looking to switch jobs. They also gave me a straightforward Excel test covering VLookUps, Pivot Tables, and some ad hoc tasks. I felt the interview went well and I nailed the Excel test. The VP mentioned I should expect a call the next day, which seemed promising. The following day, the VP emailed asking for references, which I provided, further indicating things were moving fast. After that, Vizient went completely silent. My references confirmed they were never contacted. I emailed the VP for an update but got no response. She also didn't answer my calls or reach out. It's frustrating how Vizient, like other companies, leaves candidates in the dark instead of being professional and informing them of their decision. I was given positive signals, only to be completely ignored. Despite the frustration, I'm glad I wasn't hired, as I'd prefer a company that shows more respect.

I was contacted by Vizient for an interview, initially by phone, and then scheduled for a video interview. This grew to 6 video interviews, reaching the VP of data science level. Despite being qualified, I was denied. The recruiter then offered another analyst position and the process restarted with 5 video interviews and an excel test. I performed well on the excel test with real-time questions. During this interview, my interviewer kept mentioning other positions, which was concerning. I was told I'd receive a decision by Friday, then Monday, but still haven't heard back. I suspect discrimination as a young POC, given my extensive analytics experience. It was a terrible, unprofessional experience.
