Sales Development Manager
I was excited to interview after getting the invite. I did my research and had questions ready for the hiring manager for a role advertised at 80k-100k starting. However, the hiring manager (who spoke so quietly I had to lean in to hear her) mentioned a 44k base salary and 5 weeks of training that involved a 1 hour and 10 minute drive each way from the listed territory, totaling a 2 hour 20 minute daily commute. I figured the base had to be low because she was hesitant to share the salary. I just said the posting was misleading and that made me doubt the whole recruiting process. I quickly said this wasn't for me and if the base was more reasonable for what the role involves, it might have worked, but sketchy tactics during the interview told me all I needed to know about the culture of this department in the organization.

Sales Representative
The interview process has been professional and consistent so far. After passing the phone conversation with the internal recruiter, I had an in-person interview with the Sales Manager for my region. While arriving on site, I was given a personality assessment to complete before the interview started. His style was conversational and a good mix of professional & casual. The next steps entail creating a presentation to share with him and his boss on why they should hire me. I have not received an offer as of now.

Route Service Manager
After applying, a UniFirst recruiter contacted me for a 15-minute phone interview. They then scheduled me for an onsite interview on Monday, October 16th, 2023, at 9 am. I arrived early, but apparently, the hiring manager was out of town that week and I wasn't on the schedule. I tried to contact the hiring manager via phone and text, and they texted back saying no hiring manager was available and I'd be contacted ASAP about rescheduling my onsite. I waited three weeks with no response. I then tried to follow up with the recruiter but got no answer. Today, I received a denial letter stating I was no longer being considered, despite being told three times I would have an onsite interview. I never got the chance to prove myself in person because the recruiter failed to do their job, lied, and strung me along. This was extremely unprofessional. During my time hiring employees, I never treated anyone with such disregard.

Sales Representative
A recruiter from LinkedIn reached out and we set up a call. After that, the recruiter went silent for 3 weeks. I tried to get updates multiple times with no response. During this period, another UniFirst recruiter contacted me, but I told them I was already in the process. After 3 weeks of silence, the original recruiter texted and emailed, asking if I could do another interview with short notice. I agreed, and the interview was scheduled for two days later. I had a great in-person interview, and the manager offered me a final interview during our 1.5-hour meeting. The final interview involved a PowerPoint presentation, which was a first for me. I prepared my presentation and received compliments on it. They said I'd hear back by the end of the week. Then, I was ghosted again. I've reached out to both the recruiter and the manager. I was excited about this position because of the company's reputation. However, this has been a really bad and confusing experience. Recruiters and management expect you to drop everything for interviews and presentations, only to ghost you afterward. The funny part is, I got another LinkedIn message today about the open position. There really needs to be better communication among recruiters. I've now been offered interviews by 3 different recruiters.
