I went through 3 interviews. One was a behavioral interview and the other 2 were "technical". For the technical ones, I had to describe driving situations I could test. They also gave me logic puzzles to see how I think.
- As a truck driver exiting a highway, what road and driving factors would you consider for testing?
- Describe driving scenarios you would simulate.
- Can you solve some logic puzzles that test critical thinking?
Operations Standards Analyst
The first interview went well and I felt comfortable. The recruiters are generally easy to talk to, and I suspect they use this to their advantage. They wanted to move me to a second interview, and someone reached out to book it on the same day. I never heard back after that; they completely ghosted me the same day I had the interview. If they were in a hiring freeze, they still wasted a lot of people's time. They have no respect for your time or job hunt in this market. I didn't even get an email saying they decided not to move forward, nothing at all. I would have preferred to hear that than nothing. I sent multiple emails afterwards with no response. Very unprofessional, and I see I'm not the only one who had this experience. Please do better and don't waste applicants' time; we are people too.

Intern
There's a lot of discussion among people in the industry about how to make the interview process better. By better, I mean finding more great people. One idea is that really hard interviews actually lead to better job fits. But is that true? Turns out, yeah. People who go through a tough interview process often find that the company really cares about finding employees who are a good match for both the job and the company culture.

The HR screening call made it seem like they weren't that interested in hiring me, but they still set up the interview. After that, they scheduled the interview, but the interviewer didn't show up, so we had to reschedule for the following week. When the rescheduled interview finally happened, only one person from TuSimple showed up and began the interview. It felt like they were aiming for me to fail, not the other way around.

- What would have been a better approach for my project?
